PIC 18F4550 Development Board

Introduction

PICUSB RP Smart Board comes with PIC18F4550 Microcontroller from Microchip.
It is made from double sided PTH PCB board to provide extra strength to the connector joints for increased reliability. It has Universal Serial Bus (USB) module that supports both low speed and Full speed communication for various data transfer types. Board can support large verity of PIC microcontrollers from PIC 18FXX5X family. It has general purpose PCB area for rapid prototyping. PICUSB RP smart board has all the basic components needed for gaining a head start on your PIC microcontroller projects. Board can work on 7 to 15V AC or DC supply. It has built-in reverse polarity protection. 7805 voltage regulator has heat sink for heat dissipation so that it can supply 1Amp current continuously without getting over heated. It also have USB port, and ICD socket for In Circuit Serial Programming (ICSP). It has RS232 interface with DB9 female connector based on MAX232. All the ports are connected to standard 10 pin FRC connectors. Open pads for connecting microcontroller’s pins to external devices are also provided. This board comes with on chip boot loader for self programming of microcontroller so that you can load your program using onboard USB port. To program this board you can use preloaded bootloader or PICkit2 or PIC serial programmer (NR-P-005) NEX Robotics.
